If you would like to meet with some or all of your child's teachers please contact the guidance office at 301-469-1015. The guidance counselor will assist in scheduling the meeting.
To meet with your child's teacher
If you would like to meet with your child's teacher, please contact the teacher directly or you may contact the guidance office for assistance.
To call in an absence
Call the attendance office at 301-469-1057. Please send in a note to the attendance when the child returns.
To discuss a grade, concern, or classroom policy
- Start with a call or e-mail to the teacher. Staff List
- If needed, follow up with a call to the team leader.
- If needed, follow up with a call to the grade level administrator.
To discuss or review a child's placement in a class
Contact the guidance counselor or the resource teacher for the subject department.

- Review material sent home on Thursday in your child's backpack.
- Attend PTA meetings

Teachers at Hoover post classroom activities and homework assignments online using Homework Board and/or School Notes.
- Access the Hoover school web site at www.mcps.kl2.md.us/schoolslhooverms.
- Click on "Teacher FAQ's."
- Find the teacher's name to see which methods) of communication are being used.
- Click on "Homework Board" or "Schoolnotes."
- Follow the directions provided.

Review student grades online.
Some of the teachers at Hoover use Web Grades to distribute their students' grades. This private and secure method of communication provides a convenient means of monitoring progress on a regular basis. To view online grades, you will need the Student ID and Student PIN provided by Hoover administration.
- Access the Hoover school web site at www.mcps.kl2.md.us/schoolslhooverms.
- Click on "WebGrades."
- Click on the teacher's name and wait for the classes to load.
- Find your child's class period.
- Enter your child's Student ID and Student PIN numbers.
- Click on "GO."

Contact your child's teacher via phone at 301-469-1010 or e-mail (preferred method varies by teacher) if you have questions or concerns regarding a particular class.

Contact your child's guidance counselor at 301-469-1015 if you have general questions or concerns.

Update your contact information when changes occur.
Notify the school by contacting the guidance office at 301-469-1015.

You can also contact the committee chairperson (refer to committee chairperson list in Hoover directory) to volunteer for a specific committee.
